Style Shoot Series Part 5 | Flowers

For this final post of the Style Shoot Series, I’m sharing with you more images of the beautiful flowers you’ve seen through part 12, 3 and 4, made by Janna from Floral Occasions.

We asked her to make us arrangements that were “ordinarily beautiful”- I know, odd request. But there is just SO MUCH beauty that has somehow become “ordinary” in the wedding world of flowers, furthermore, I can’t understand when “ordinary” became undesirable, boring, and in some cases, considered ugly. I think roses, tulips, carnations and stock are great! They are timeless flowers that hold up well and come is so many colors! For us, the pink tones were perfect. Simple, sweet, and not overly pretentious with their “uniqueness”.

My favorite part of the arrangements (besides them being beautiful!) was the versatility and their sturdiness.  As you noticed on the other posts, we used those flowers everywhere! Adjusted, re-adjusted, added ribbons, changed the container (all vases & candle sticks were Janna’s inventory), they were out in the sun, back inside, I am pretty sure I dropped one of the pieces on the floor too… Which is exactly what happens on wedding days too! Many church pew arrangements end up on cocktail tables, bouquets are used to dress up cake & sweetheart tables, extra flowers are bundled together to use in the bar or restrooms…the options are limitless!

I hope we encouraged & inspired you with this shoot series, remember that you can take any element or idea and make your own. There is no magic formula for wedding planning, but it doesn’t mean you can’t change your mind and evolve along the way. Happy Planning to all of you!

xxo!

Of course I had to include this shot with Intern Jess and Ania! Cleaning up after a shoot is always fun! Plus the carnation frame that was made for the bathroom mirror was a GREAT prop!
